Day 1 Arrival in Kigali, Visit the Genocide Memorial Museum, and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park  

The tour commences with your arrival at Kigali International Airport, where you will be welcomed by your guide. Following a brief introduction and orientation, you will embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, located approximately two hours from Kigali. The park is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and serves as a habitat for the endangered mountain gorillas.

A visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial is also included. This memorial stands as a solemn reminder of Rwanda’s tragic history and is crucial for understanding the country’s path towards reconciliation. The museum offers insightful exhibitions about the genocide, paying tribute to the victims while promoting peace and unity.

Day 2 Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park  

On the second day, following an early breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing session on gorilla trekking regulations and safety protocols. Trekking groups are organized based on participants' fitness levels and preferences. Subsequently, you will embark on a trek through lush montane forests in pursuit of one of the park’s habituated gorilla families. The trek's difficulty may vary depending on weather conditions and gorilla movements.

Upon encountering these magnificent creatures, you will have the opportunity to spend an hour observing them in their natural habitat—this awe-inspiring experience offers close-up photography and interaction with these gentle giants. After the tracking session, you will return to your lodge to unwind and enjoy dinner.

Day 3 Golden Monkey Tracking, Visit the Dian Fossey and Transfer to Kigali for Departure  

On your final day, embark on an engaging trek to track golden monkeys within Volcanoes National Park. These lively primates are known for their playful behavior and are often found swinging through bamboo trees. Like gorilla tracking, you will have an hour to observe them after locating their troop. This experience involves hiking through lush forests but is generally less strenuous than gorilla trekking.

After your golden monkey adventure, visit the Dian Fossey Museum located near the park headquarters. The museum shows her groundbreaking work in gorilla conservation and features exhibits about her life's mission to protect these endangered species.

Return to Kigali for your departure or extend your stay to explore more of Rwanda's natural beauty.
