This itinerary combines the thrill of hiking Mount Sabinyo with the excitement of a game safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park, offering a diverse Ugandan adventure.

Day 1: Pick up from the Airport/Hotel and drive to Mgahinga National Park.

Your driver guide will pick you up from the Hotel/Entebbe and then you start your scenic 5-day Uganda Hiking Mountain Sabinyo trip to Mgahinga National Park. You will stop at the Equator for photograph and later for enroute lunch before you proceed to Mgahinga National Park and you will arrive late evening for Dinner and overnight.

Drive Time: Approximately 9-10 hours

Day 2: Early Morning Hiking of Mt. Sabinyo

Today, you will start the hike to the top of Mount Sabinyo, a Virunga Volcano that you can only access from the summit of the park. The summit of the mountain lies at 3,645 meters (11,959 ft) and marks the intersection of the borders of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, and Uganda. The slopes of Mt. Sabyinyo are a habitat for the critically endangered mountain gorillas.

You will see the rugged nature of the terrain along the Sabinyo slopes that has many craters with sharp ridges. The Mount Sabinyo hike is a one-day hike involving 4 hours to the summit and 4 hours back, depending on the pace and weather conditions. Walking sticks are provided for free meanwhile the porters are available for hire. You will go through vegetation ranges from the bamboo zone between 2400 and 2800m. After ascending to its park, have some rest and your packed lunch. Start descending the mountain. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an evening game drive

After breakfast, you will drive to the Mweya sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, and you will have a short game drive before heading to the lodge for overnight and dinner.

Drive time: Approximately 6 hours

Accommodation: Buffalo Safari Lodge/Elephant Hab Lodge

Meal plan: Full board

Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel

Early morning you will go for a game drive in Kasenyi in search of early grazers, chances for cats, and other wildlife. You will then have lunch at the lodge and drive to do a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel as you will be able to sport various aquatic animals, birds, and many more.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe to end the trip

After breakfast and relaxation at the lodge, you will bid farewell to the lodge and drive back to Kampala/Entebbe for drop off at the Hotel or Airport to end the 5-day Mountain Hiking and Game Safari.
